Handy brewer with decent temperature - both of mine run about 205°F once they are brewing. Only issue is from 1st drips to final coffee (if filled to max capacity, about 790g of brew water) is almost 7 minutes. That's a bit intense for anything except a pure 1mm grind (Press Pot), and I can end up with 22.5% + over extracted coffee fairly easily.
BUT it's a great and very consistent brewer, and cheap (if you can find them). I use a brew ratio around 9% - fill to the "3" mark is 500g of brew water, using 45g of coffee.
The brew cycle takes about 4.5 minutes for the 500g(ml) fill, and extracts to about 19% with a standard "drip" grind. The produced coffee is ~2.1% strength, which makes two decent 340-350ml (or two ~12oz cups) of coffee.
YMMV, but this setting (~500g:45g coffee) works will with the "Bodum Bistro Electric Burr Grinder (Bodum Bistro)" Bodum Bistro grinder, set at the press pot minus two dots (or the pourover + 4 dots, same position).
With a premium coffee it's full profile and outstanding, and lots of comments from F&F about coffee I've made (even though I've slipped a couple of pots of Eight 'o Clock in). Freshly roasted can have a teeny bit of touching of the grounds to the cap.
That's ~$75 for the grinder, and ~$5-$10 for the brewer. I've found that most of the time, auto drip brewers have a cycle that's just too long, and that's where the trouble begins. Most of the higher wattage models seem to do just "ok" for temperature (the little Melitta BCM-4C has a cap that I think is probably why it seems to do well with heat retention). With drip brewers, the only way to adjust the brewing time is to reduce the amount of brew water used - and many times people don't think about making a well-extracted concentrate that you dilute with hot water.
But, I'm sure if you have the coin, the BraZen is going to be an awesome brewer.
You'll still require a decent and consistent grinder - which to me at minimum is the Bodum Bistro, a properly modified Hario Mini Mill Slim (which is a REAL pain to grind a lot of coffee for a full pot, prone to some initial quality issues), or move up to any of the Baratza products (see other threads on grinder recommendations for different types of coffee such as "Best grinder for all types of coffee?" and "Coffee Grinder for home use")
