Subject: Filters for Bunn-o-matic: Where to buy?

I need filters for my home(not commercial) Bunn drip coffeemaker.  The proper filters are abou 0.5" deeper than a standard filters you find at the local megamart.  I've tried the megamart filters, but I'm really not a fan of having grounds in my coffee - the others just work a lot better.

I used to be able to buy these from a local cash-n-carry here where I could buy ~750 filters for about $5.  Well, they went out of business and my local grocery stores don't carry the right ones.

So - anyone know where I can find them?

I used to buy them at a local chain grocery store, but the stopped carrying them, and trying to explain to the ordering department that the extra half inch makes a difference makes no difference to them.

I found some online for $11 for 1000, plus $8 shipping. It was more than I used to pay here, but am tired of the mess in the basket.

Indeed, the Bunn filters are larger enough to make a difference.  I've found them on occasion at Walmart.  When I find them, I normally buy a box, whether I need them or not, since if I needed them, I'd not be able to find them.  ;-)

Looks like Staples office supply has filters for Bunn machines on their website, $9.99 for 1000 plus shipping.  You might try a Staples store if there's one nearby, or maybe even Office Max or Office Depot.  You might also check the yellow pages to see if there's a coffee service company in your town.  They might sell you some.

They are called CF-10 filters. Usually they can be found at BJ's, Costco or any restaurant supply store. If you still come up empty try www.bunnomatic.com. Kevin

Just so we're clear - the commercial filters that a lot of staples, etc carry are way too big for the home unit.  A google search for cf-10 "coffee filters" turns up nothing relevant, so I'm not sure how big these are.  The actual filter should measure around 2.75 inches high by about 3 to 3.25" in diameter.  The ones I have now are 2.75 x 3.25 and they work perfectly even though the Bunn website lists the 3 inch diameter instead.

thanks for the input, everyone.  I'll try the local BJ's and Walmart to see if they have any.

Hi...
It is the 2.75 inches high that is the issue, not the 3" - 3.25" diameter.  Our 'el-cheapo' filters are only 2.25 inches high.

In Bunn makers, the water fills the basket so quickly to the 2.5 inch level that it overflows the inexpensive filters. You are right, the CF-10 I have never seen, but bunnomatic.com has the home ones available for purchase ($10.75 per 1000) and some stores carry the Bunn brand in a box.

Since our local suppliers don't carry the Bunn brand, we just order them.

Sorry for the CF-10 confusion. CF-12 are 12 cup size for standard commercial bottle brewers and CF-10 are for 10 cup Bunn B-8, B-10 and A-10 brewers.

The ones I am using now are Brew-Rite #55-01B, 1697, 10 cup. "Fits Bunn A-10 and other 10 cup brewers".

The people at Bunn are very helpful and should be able to steer you in the right local direction. Sears, J.C.Penney, Ace Hardware and even K-Mart used to sell Bunn brewers and supplies but it's been a long time since I've checked so I wouldn't want to send anyone on a wild goose chase. Sears does sell replacement carafes.

Hope this helps. Kevin

Surprisingly, I was walking down the coffee maker aisle at a Target store today, and there the filters were, on the top shelf.  One hundred for $0.99.  Bunn filters, same size you specified.

I'll have to check that out.  At that price, it's cheaper than ordering them online.

I have been able to find the 100 boxes here and there, but the price ranges from barely cheaper than ordering 1000 to outright rediculous(over $3 per box).
