Hello,
I decided to get tough on my Melior 6 cup press pot and I lost, shattering the glass container :( I learned my lesson, next time, I'll know to withdraw the piston, stir and then try again WITOUT applying too much pressure.
That being said, I'm looking to replace my glass beaker but it seems that the bodum brand one's won't work. Bodum has a 4 cup and an 8 cup beaker that is too large, thus the piston rod is not long enough to get even 4 inches from the bottom.
How can I but a replacement beaker for my Melior 6 cup press pot? Should I order online? I'm located in Montreal, Canada.

I Googled "six cup french press" and saw several including a BonJour replacement carafe on Amazon. I would think you could find a replacement in Canada. The brand shouldn't matter, the beakers/carafes are fairly standard sized.

Yeah, Melior made that nicely-proportioned size but now I'm not sure anyone makes it anymore. As Jim says, there ARE spares around, but I too had to go the web-order route a couple years ago. I wish I could remember where I got them, but I recall they were out of stock but the merchant sent them along just as promised when they got new stock. So you should have success.
