I am looking to filter my water. Although it tastes pretty good, my recently purchased TDS meter measures it at 350-400ppm. I am thinking Pur or Brita, and then seeing how one of those go. I've heard Pur is slightly better, but over time the filters cost about 33% more. I am not looking for an expensive filter setup. Any suggestions?

I used a Brita for years and was very happy. I tried the Pur (although years ago) and thought it was slower than the Brita, which is already slow enough.

I suggest this under the sink set up it's affordable and will last a very long time. Replacement filters are easy to find, are usually cheap and should last you a long time if you are only using the water to make coffee.
