First off, most of my coffee is made via pour over methods. I brew mainly V60s at home and use a Kalita 155 in my office. I recently acquired a small bee house dripper and thought I would give it a try. Personally, I enjoy my Kalita drippers a bit more than the V60, because of the dripper restricted flow rate and ease of use. That said, I am very comfortable with the flow rate control necessary to brew a V60 and get fantastic results. My main questions about the Beehouse are in regards to pour technique/guidelines.
I gather that the timing for the Beehouse is in a similar 3ish minute time window as the Kalita. Additionally, it is less finicky about the pour rate, because of the small two hole design. After pre-infusion, what have people found success with? Continuous slow pour? Pulse pouring like on the Kalita? Avoid the edges or just cover the coffee?
Not looking for specifics, as I know that methods differ, but rather how you personally approach the Beehouse. That said, feel free to share whatever information/methodology as you see fit.
