Hello,
I haven't come across a whole lot of discussion on the Capresso MT600. Does anyone here have one that can provide some good feedback? The reviews on Amazon are less than stellar, but there are also a number of positive reviews elsewhere. What do you like/dislike about it?
I was seriously considering a Bunn Phase Brew HT, but it sounds like these units are experiencing a number of problems. While I'd like to get a Technivorm, the cost is a bit higher than I'm looking to spend.

I have the MT500 and I have been satisfied with it. This is from another thread where I discussed the MT500.
"The Technnivorm was not in my budget at the time I bought the Capresso used on ebay. If you read the consumer reviews about the Capresso MT-500 on CG they are mixed. I liked the SS lined heating element, the thermal carafe and a 6-8 minute brew time. The spray head could be a little better but I usually don't put the carafe under the machine until the filter fills half way with water so the grounds get fully saturated(just don't get distracted and forget that was a mess haha). I bought the MT-500 over the MT-600 because I read they were produced in different locations and the 500 was built better, its been a while since I researched so I forget where. But to be honest I don't use the Capresso anymore it has become my wifes coffee maker I have become a dedicated clever coffee dripper user."

I know this thread is a couple of months old ... just wondering what / if the OP purchased? And why?
I'm shopping for the same thing. Would like to buy a drip machine for when we have company that will make their own coffee while I'm at work (ie. they would rather drive to Tim's than fuss with my aeropress, shame). Technivorm is a bit out of budget, but I would still like a machine to produce good coffee should I decide to use it the odd weekend for myself.
Reviews on the Bunn Phase Brew are mixed. Came across the Capresso MT600. Just wondering what you settled on?

Here's my quick comparison of the MT500 (not 600) and the Phase Brew.I use both on a daily basis--one at work and one at home. I am a home roaster and usually the coffee I brew on both machines is from the same batch, so a lot of variables are minimized.
Both make good coffee and have never had any technical defects. But I give the edge to the Capresso. It does a better job of extracting the nuances properly. And it has a much better thermal carafe system--it butts up against the basket so the coffee is not exposed to the air as it fills the carafe. The Bunn has about an inch gap between the basket and the carafe, and the carafe is not ever sealed--you just pour. The MT500 has a lid that must be turned a quarter turn before pouring. So even if the Bunn starts with hotter water, the MT500 keeps it almost scalding hot much longer. Coffee in the Bunn carafe is noticeably cooler in only 90 minutes.
The Bunn also uses a flat basket, and the Capresso a conical one--and i think conical baskets may be responsible for better extraction.
So in the end--after comparing both on a daily basis for a half year--the MT500 winds. Brews better coffee and keeps it hot far longer.

Craig - I have been reading about the Brazen, and I would wait for it BUT ... I have company at my place for 3 weeks, starting at the beginning of August, so unfortunately I can't wait for it's release, otherwise I definitely would hold off!
I can't seem to find the MT500 from any of the online Canadian retailers... all have the 600. I've read the 600 is a replacement for the 500, so that's probably why. There are some differences in material, and the 500 was apparently made in Portugal, while the 600 is made in China. But I assume the functionality is the same-ish? I also like the fact that there is a permanent gold filter for these machines, seems you can only use paper in the Phase Brew.
Any other recommendations (other than TV and probably Bonavita)? Or if already spending $150, would the Bonavita be a better purchase than the Capresso?

Yes, Zcafe.ca has the MT600 too, as well as the other major online retailers. The MT600 (plus) is the only one I'd be interested in of the Capresso models I think. I don't need a grinder, as my lovely Vario (from you Craig) is still going strong :)

idrinkcoffee.ca has the Capresso and the Bonavita thermal available with free shipping. I have the Mt-500 and the Bonavita. I like both, but I use the Bonavita more often than not - it is simpler to operate (one button), and the filter cone and pot are always lined up perfectly - did have a spill or two with the Capresso due to my carelessness. The Bonavita is faster as well while giving up nothing to the Capresso in the looks department.
