My first attempt has been ongoing for a little over four hours with maybe an ounce or two of water left. While I was steady at 40 drops per minute at the start, it has slowed to 2-4 drops per minute now. What on earth do you do with that last bit of water? At that rate, it could go on for much longer. I also found it to taste a little under-extracted, so I'll tweak my grind just a bit. I've attached an image of my grind setting with my Capresso.

It's true, the rate tends to slow down a lot at the end. Apparently the pressure applied by the total water volume affects the drip quite a bit. A couple of solutions come to mind:
Widen the hole in the lid as the drip rate slows.
Prepare two punctured lids, one with a smaller hole that drips at the desired rate with a full volume of water and another with a larger hole that drips at the desired rate with a low volume of water.
Throughout the process, continually refill the water reservoir in order to maintain a consistent drip rate. Instead of ending the brew when the bottle is empty, end when the desired coffee volume has been produced.
It's also been suggested that we experiment with another type of lid (see picture) that has an easily adjustable opening. If this works, it would be simple to adjust the rate throughout the process as needed.
