Thanks for the suggestion Imawriter! The problem is that I just used 40 grams coffee to 450 ml water, which is already a lot more than what I have read is the standard. If anything I think the normal ratio is somewhere around 30 grams/450 ml.
I will definitely go with a finer grind but making this a bit harder is moving from my friend's electric grinder to my attempt to use orphanespresso's hand grinder - Lido, and matching up the grinds and then making it a bit finer. My first attempt will be at a grind that is between drip and espresso which is suppose to be about a 3/4 turn on the grind setting. (FYI on the instructions it reads espresso range 1/4-3/4 turn and drip range 3/4 - 1 1/2 turns). If you can share any light here too I am all ears. Either way, it should be a fun experiment.
