I just returned from my first trip to Germany, where I spent about 10 days in the Wiesbaden area, visiting a friend who lives there. She took us to a supermarket called REAL, and I was amazed at the number of coffee machines of all types they had for sale. They easily had 100+ different models of machines on display--fully-automatics, semi-automatics, capsule and pod machines, as well as simple drip machines, from 25 or 30 euros in price, to 1500 euros or more. The attached photo shows only one row of the coffee machines on display. There were 3 or 4 rows like this, I think. Unbelievable! I haven't seen this number on display in any store I've been to in my native U.S. If I lived there, I would have bought at least 10 of them! Pretty interesting!

Actually, it's a supermarket/department store, where they sell food and everything else. My point is that, even as an appliance store, compared to the ones I've ever seen in the U.S., the number of coffee machines they have for sale is incredible--to me, anyway.
REAL is what they classify as a "Hypermarket". Here is a brief description of it: REAL Hypermarket.

That is a lot like the Super Walmart stores. Take a full size Walmart then add a full size supermarket too, the ultimate in one stop shopping. Though they do not have a coffee section like that!
