We're currently have a Nespresso Machine in our office. At the moment it's great for quick coffee.
We currently need a solution for quick simple bean to cup coffee machine to replace the Nespresso as the pods are too expensive for the amount of people in the office (about 10, but a couple are italian and consume about 5 times the amount of coffee of regular people). Unfortunately after looking at the Bean to Cup machines they have very mixed reviews from varying amounts of people and have no idea what to pick. I'm lost in the bean to cup regions but know lots about traditional machines. Any suggestions? Our budget is about £300 - £600 ($500 - $950) and would ideally prefer steam wand over build in milk method.
I think you are talking about buying what we call a "SuperAutomatic" These machines grind, tamp, brew and clean up at the touch of one button. We do not look favorably on those machines for the most part due to the high maintaince costs and the frequent break downs as well as the not so great coffee they make.
That said, often, in situations like an office, they can be the best option as you have lots of people who are using it and most do not want to learn how to do it properly.
Welcome to the board, I am sure others will be able to help more than I can in regards to these machines but the above is the reason you find lots of negative reviews of these machines. This also goes for the giant commercial machines too, there is nothing that can take the place of the skilled hand of the Barista.

another option might be to stop supplying the pods through the office. let everyone who wants to use the N'espresso get their own. That may, they pay for what they use and they can choose the specific pods they like best. The office supplies the machine, water, power and milk (assuming you use the frother too).
