After reading Randy's review I realized some of my advice dealing with body could have included, let the cup cool. The brewer is exacting in its temps for extraction of key character but to be enjoyed needs to cool to taste the character.
Just an added thought..
REMINDER: Never leave the roaster unattended when in use !! And remember to use our Rosetta Stone tip PART V PARAGRAPH 3.. it works !!!
I made another pot this evening to have with dinner. I used your adivce, Joe, and ground about 6 clicks finer and brewed two degrees warmer. A WORLD of difference. Richer flavor and much more body, and overall a delicious cup of coffee.
And by the way, I believe that I have the first independent review of the Brazen, and it is already on the first page on Google - hit #7!
I hope this thread isn't too dead to bring back. I just got a Brazen a few days ago and have been trying to dial-in the best settings. Randy, what number of grind are you using and how many grams of coffee? Thanks!
I've had this machine for a little over a month. I like it quite a bit
Definitely does not like hard water. At all. I use a Brita Filter for everything that goes into the pot, but still I needed to descale after 30 days' use. That seems a little too often. So I guess I'm going to need to buy water in a jug.
The carafe lip is designed such that it causes dribble no matter how you pour. I plan on doing some modification testing to see if I can improve on it enough to not spill all over. If that works, even a little, I'll post a follow up
Try tipping the carafe all the way up over the cup, so the top is vertical or a bit past vertical, before pulling the trigger. Leave it vertical and let go of the button to stop. This technique works very well for me, with zero dribbles or drops spilled.
