Baratza Virtuoso cost just a little more than 200, as well as the Breville Smart Grinder is right around 200 but if you have a Bed Bath Beyond store near you, you can get their 20% off coupon and use it there.
The Encore though is way more than enough for coarse needs though, it won't do espresso really, but is consistant for coarse grinds.
that's weird, I have an expired 20% off one laying here that looks just like the others they always send. No mention of Breville. I gave one to my buddy and he bought the Smart Grinder with it.
Since your in FL too, if there's a Sur La Table by you, or Williams Sonoma, they'll both match the BBB coupon (some had trouble doing so but guess it depends on who you speak with)
To your question, this is as good an answer as I would have been able to come up with:

It appears that in addition to better burrs than the Baratza Encore, the Virtuoso grinds faster and has a timer. I think a timer would be a nice feature to have. How does the "timer" on the Breville Smart Grinder compare? Would I be able to grind about 50g of beans with either? (I know that Baratza has a scale attachment, but it is not in my budget.)
