I saw this today and thought it looked like it might be some sort of Technivorm knockoff--pretty lofty claims from DeLonghi. It is only $83. I get a lot of interest in my Technivorm from coffee lovers, but they refuse to spend $200--is it possible that a viable alternative has come on the scene? It would be great if these folks could have proper coffee at a price they can swallow! What are your opinions on why this little machine might or might not compare? How many of you have tried or seen one? I think it has a stainless instead of copper boiler, but sounds similar from the descriptions I have read. edit: this machine is currently $58.01 and as low as $5.75 shipping edit: price reduced to $46.11!!

Hello, This coffee brewer is actually the Kenwood CM900. I think its made in Japan and re-badged by DeLonghi. It's approved by the European Coffee brewing center in Norway, the link is below. I meets the water to coffee contact time and temperature like the Technivorm brewers do. Hope this helps you! I looked on line since a friend just asked me the same question. They want a machine and are using a $20 coffee maker and want an upgrade but are not willing to spend the big bucks on one. They asked me what I was using and my commercial Bunn unit is out of the question for them. When I saw your thread, and the statement about meeting the European Coffee brewing center in Norway standards, I did a search and found it for closer to $150. Care to share the location of the $83 unit publically?

Tried to send you and email but my ISP bounced it back as undeliverable. Will try one more time. Edited to say that I can't read. Big Smile. I did find one on Ebay for that price in an opened package floor model, but the new one on Ebay is $110. To recomend to a friend to buy the floor model has some risks involved in remaining friends - HA. Want his buying, brewing experience to go as smoothly as possible. Rick
