I use the Bonavita thermal daily and like it. I wouldn't call it "easy" as there is a little bit more handling of the parts than I would like. After brewing you have to remove the drip assembly (and find somewhere to put it) to pour a cup. If you made more than what you are going to consume immediately you have to put on the lid. After your done for the day you need to find somewhere to store the lid. Just little extra steps but they are relevant in your daily process. Like anything else once you become used to the steps required they no longer matter; it's just part of your routine.

I've had coffee from a Technivorn and was frankly underwhelmed. It may have been @ exactly 200 F, but beyond that, unremarkable.
I have a Viking that is generally scorned by the cognoscenti...we bought it at a fire sale price as Viking was discontinuing much of its small appliance line(s)..........read the instructions, and have been making excellent electric drip coffee since. I prefer Chemex and/or French press, but it does come in quite handy for a large brewing. We have changed our morning routine so do not need the "coffee brewed automatically and ready when one comes to the kitchen" convenience factor.
They may be still available through 3rd party sellers on Amazon. It has a thermal carafe, a 12 cup capacity, but takes up a load of counter space as it's as big as a truck.

It may be a single store thing, like I said, each store can set a special price if they want to. I once bought a roll away tool box with top box at a club and had issues with it, I tried to return it to a closer club who also carried the exact same tool box and they could not return it as their price was about $75 more than what I paid only two days before at the other store. I had to go to the store i bought it at to get a good one (it was bent up due to shipping damage that could not be seen through the packing) The price was still the same there as it was when I bought it.
It has something to do with manager specials or something. YMMV as well as price!!!!
