Did you get this in your email Inbox too, from being subscribed to BUNN Marketing? I received it at 3:02pm Toronto, Ontario, time & I was going to phone them to see if it has an adjustable brew temp band., but didn't get around to it..
It would really be ideal if we could set this by way of what appears to be a digital display up top but is probably only a water level indicator window (hope it isn't fixed @ 200°F brew temp like all home Bunn units!) on the holding tank, 195 - 205°F. I see the digital display at the bottom though.

So by that, I take it that Bunn has it fixed at their "ideal" brew temp of a midway point., which is 200°F.. {:-/
My email is time stamped 3:13:23 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time from BUNN Marketing. I looked at the .pdf file for the brewer and it does say about 200°F.

If it drips into the grounds at about 200°F from such a short drop it should brew a pretty good cup. Is the adjustable temp a deal breaker for you? I only have one brewer I can tweak temps with thanks to it's commercial nature, but I leave it set at 200°F. Also, I think that is a water level viewer on top since the clock and other controls sit below the carafe. I like this thermal carafe version (picture is from the .pdf cover minus the black background). The design resembles the Philips HD 5410/00 Cafe Gourmet (on right - not sure about the scale compared to the BUNN but it sits ~20 inches or 49 cm high) that won a design award in 2008.

I have a decent drip brewer too but the closest thing I used lately that even remotely resembles this style brewer is an old Krups Tea Timer. I experimented with this unit to see if it could brew a decent cup of coffee. The unit boils and then drops the water into a steeping chamber/grounds basket that holds the liquid until a timer (the operator sets the steep or contact time) releases the coffee into a carafe - think of it as an automatic version of the Clever Coffee Dripper. I liked what it could achieve after a little trial and error. The BUNN Phase Brew design looks similar minus the controlled release - maybe it is like an automatic Hario cone? If this unit brews a cup similar to my Tea Timer result then I would be happy try one - provided the price is reasonably close to the BTX series. It does list 4 cup (20 fl oz) capability too.

So... Bunn figured out a way to keep their brewing style and get rid of the always-on boiler full of hot water. Interesting.
When I had a Bunn, one of the "features" I enjoyed was being able to pull the filter basket out and get hot water from the showerhead. (It looks like that goes away with this model.)
Good, the thermal pots are so much better: no scortch taste, no burning down the house if all the coffee drys out when everyone's gone weekending. (Hope the exageration police aren't looking at my post ;) )...

Very interesting. Looks like it will be had for just under $100.
For searchability, the model is BUNN HG and the thermal is BUNN HT
Perhaps I will be able to convince my sister to get one now, she wasn't willing to put up with the always on "feature" on other Bunn's. Instead she opts to scorch the crap out of my beautiful roasts with her Mr. Coffee.
