Hi. I always use a french press. The beans I like are too oily and cause the press to be hard to press. Yes I grind nice and coarse. I just don't like all the oil on the beans anyway. Can anyone recommend a mild-medium bean I can buy? I like to make it crazy strong but don't like acidic or flavored coffee. I do not like Starbucks. Something I can order online. Any suggestions? I dont like oils outside the bean,to me they belong inside protected from heat,light,oxygen & water. In the end its a taste thing.But when roast profile eclipses varietal profile I personally dont like it. Hence the name Charbucks.

Also, I think he meant to include this link... Click Here (www.home-barista.com) You'll see the two roasters he mentioned are on it, but all of the roasters on the list will have roast on dates on the bags and get them to you fresh. None of them will over-roast their beans to the point where they are slathered in oil.
Mocha Joe's in Battleboro, VT are listed a little further down that home-barista thread if you want to shop locally. Stay away from dark/Italian/French/Vienna roasts if you don't want oil on your beans.
