I thought I'd read how to do this, but now I can't find it. Is there any way to empty all water from the Trifecta boiler for moving/shipping? I don't want the 12oz or so to get all over the inside of the box.
Sorry, thought I'd put this in the Trifecta thread

I just talked with Amanda at Bunn. She said there isn't a good way to empty the boiler in the field. You can send it in to have it done, but I don't think in this case I need to do that.

Kerry,
Good question! I just sent mine back on Monday and hoping for a return today or tomorrow. I also looked all over for instructions for doing this, but could find nothing. So, after removing the reservoir, I held the Trifecta upside down while pushing in the valve where the reservoir is placed. This got most of the water out but some leaked through the top of the case too. Oh yeah, make sure the unit is unplugged for a while to cool down the water. I tilted it upright a few times while holding it upside down over the sink and eventually no more water came out. I also placed the Trifecta in a sealed plastic bag for shipping. There should be a better way than this. I have talked with them since they received mine and no mention was made of finding a wet disaster within the case. Hope this helps and take care.
Jim

Jim, Thanks for the explanation! I'll do the same.
No, I don't have an issue. Just traveling to a friends house out of state for a week. In case the box tips over I didn't want to get water everywhere. I'll use Jim's technique. Sounds like that gets most of it out.
