Not sure where to post this. I just picked up used Oscar. I filled it with RO water and pulled a bunch of shots and on the second day the water light went on as I was pulling a shot. I added water and now I can't get the water light to go out. I am using RO water that is down to 2 grains of hardness. I tried the salt trick and that didn't work. I pull the water container and put in tap water 185 grains of hardness, and that didn't work. I pulled the water tank and put my finger on the bottom and pushed the release and the water flows. What I notice was there is no water across the sensor. So using a turkey baster I filled that small area with tap water, where the water tank should sit, about 1 oz, turned the machine on and the light remained off and the water in that small area started to go down and then the light went on.
Why won't water flow out of the tank an into the machine.

Additional info...I filled the area where the water tank sit and the light goes out. I can steam for a few minutes. I then tried to pull a shot, the pump goes on, the water in the area where the sensor sits starts to drop and the low water goes on.
Do I need to prime the water tank or something? The pin that pushing into the water tank looks to be ok. I can't see any reason why water won't flow out of the tank other than that plastic pin not reaching the release under water tank.

RO is the WORST water you can use. It tastes flat and does not have the mineral content to operate the electronics on an espresso machine.
My guess is that your tank is not seated fully down. When I had an Oscar a few years ago, the tank required a hard "snap" when pushed down, to seat it into the intake valve.
The minerals in the water in the boiler will keep the system working for a while but as the RO water fills the system, it will be more and more "pure" and start to cause issues with the auto fill system.
