Fresh coffee wins every time. Your choice, stale pods or fresh Aeropress with a grinder (even an OK grinder works well with Aeropress, in a pinch I even got good results with a GASP, blade "grinder" I like the Aeropress but lately I have been using the Hario V60, single cup pour over drip cone. No particular reason other than it is on the counter in my office and the Aeropress is in a drawer so it is just ever so slightly more work to use the Aeropress LOL!

You can brew your own coffee using a Nespresso machine, too (i.e. fresh as you like), but the Aeropress is easier to travel with and get a good, quick cup from for sure if you BYOB(eans).

There are two choices you have to make in your original question - preground prepackaged predosed coffee vs freshly ground fresh coffee, and Nespresso Machine vs. Kettle and Aeropress for brewing.
Freshly ground, fresh coffee will always give better coffee than stale preground prepackaged coffee. Being able to choose your dose and grind size is important to getting the best from which ever coffee you use. Pods contain a fixed amount (too little by almost all standards) of stale preground coffee, while an Aeropress can use virtually any dose of either fresh or preground coffee that you wish to use. A fill-your-own pod will allow you to vary the dose and grind to some extent, but there's a pretty tight upper limit on the dose you can use, as the pods are small. Freshly ground coffee in a fill-your-own pod or Aeropress is also cheaper per cup than nespresso pods.
A nespresso machine will probably only give you a single fixed temperature for brewing, and a fixed brewing rate, with no steep time, and only a few fixed quantities of water. An Aeropress gives you control of the water temperature, water quantity, steep time and press out time. And you can choose between paper filters or a number of metal mesh filters.
Basically if you want good tasting coffee, whichever brew method you choose, use a grinder and freshly ground coffee. If you want more control over your brewing method, use an Aeropress as your brewer. If you want a very convenient brew method, with little in the way of options or interaction, use the nespresso machine.
