Hope this works. With Penny, and some Kosher salt.

I am definitely going to post a video a bit later.  It may help.

Vid Link of my wife Kara and I making the coffee with the Brikka.  This was the first time we have done a coffee preparation video.  Done roaster videos before, however this one was particularly challenging.  The brikka brew that was formed did not have as much brikka crema as anticipated.  Viewers will note that.

All I can say is Thank God for Googles auto-stabilization feature and some free editing software.  Took me about 45 minutes to trim about 5 minutes of really messed up footage from video.

In any rate, hope the video helps Brikka users.  Don't laugh too hard.

Thanks for that. I have not watched it in it's entirety, nor was I able to listen ( my 1 year old is sleeping next to my desk here ). I do notice right away that your grind is MUCH finer than mine. Tomorrow I will try to match your and see what I get. Thanks again, and I look forward to watching the vid in the A.M.

sorry for your mess.  I'd be tentative, too, if I had to wipe down my kitchen after every cup of coffee.

I have a couple suggestions:
First, just to test your pot.  Fill your bottom reservoir up to the bottom of the valve with water. Put the filter in and the screw on the top. Yep, no coffee. Heat it up on medium heat (I'm assuming gas)  When it boils, all the water should go to the top chamber without spraying your kitchen.  If it does, return the pot.

I always remove the pot from heat when I hear the gurgling.  My pot continues to push liquid to the top chamber -- this way I don't burn anything, coffee or water.  For this test, All or almost all the water should end up in the top chamber.  One of my pots only brings up 2/3 of the water to the top chamber.  I don't use this pot.  All my others bring up all the water and leave the bottom chamber empty but not dry, not coffee stained either.

So if that works, I think you're grinding too fine.  Regular drip grind works well enough in all my moka pots but I get better flavor when I grind a little finer.

hope that helps

I had similar problems with my Brikka. Nothing I did solved them. Ultimately I parked it in the cupboard where it remains to this day.

Are you never going to use it?  If you are not I someone on CG may buy it from you after you get some user history under your belt.
