Subject: Yama Handle Melted!

OK, so this was my fault.  I got distracted and left it going.  Luckily I didn't destroy the glass...or burn down my building!!  Anyway the handle melted COMPLETELY off.  I just have the metal ring and screw left.

I was thinking of replacing the handle with something more robust and out of the way.  Like a stick handle for a frying pan.  The Yama original handle was pretty chintzy and got too near the flame.

Anyone have any experience with this?  Mine is a 5 cup stove top model.
