Saw recently on Google+ a pitch for a drip 'machine' from Ratio Coffee.  SUPER elegant looking device with what appears to be a Chemex pitcher for a pot, lots of glass, minimal, SEXY wood accents and few moving parts.  Website indicates only 500 will be made and to get in on it; $480.00 per device.

Comments, thoughts, ideas?

I think this one will come out since it's coming from Clive Coffee, and I don't think they plan to stop at 500 just the first production run. I imagine if they sell out relatively quickly they keep going with them.

I went ahead and went through the process because well I already get a weekly or monthly from Clive Coffee so what the heck. Anyway the main design features are a preset bloom period built into the brewer, and auto adjusts the brew time according to the amount of water you put in. Basically a Technivorm on steroids. However, there is not an actual unit yet to see just computer renditions I guess they are seeking funding to help cover the cost prior to going to production without having kickstarter get a cut of their funding.

Less water, more grounds.

Still haven't received mine. I'm 131st line and will be SUPER excited to get it, whenever that may be. Patience is a virtue, right?

I've mulled this over along with the Chemex Ottomatic. Chemex sold out it's first run and I was told nothing until May 2015. My preference would be for the Ratio, but so many dates have slipped that I have yet to make the commitment. Ratio now states April ship if ordered now, but seeing that no one on this forum has received one yet, I'm still in hesitation mode.
Hope to read a review from some of you soon.

I see the last 'weekly' update was February 8.....so no news can be good or bad.

I find it interesting that in the "watch it work" video you never actually see it work.  You see water enter the filter cone and then the flask, but you never see what is actually dispensing the water.  The only evidence that it's actually doing anything is the light sequencing.
