I'm planning on buying either an Aeropress or Clever Coffee Dripper. I know there's plenty of discussion on here about which one is "better", but I'd like to know if there's much of a difference between the two methods regarding the type of coffee you prefer. Assuming you make an Americano with the AP, does one highlight the bright and fruity notes of some coffees more than the other? How about making a strong dark roast? Any difference in mouthfeel? Can you influence those things by changing your technique? Personally, I don't have a go-to coffee that I make all the time, but I'd just like to know what to expect before buying. I'm not concerned with taking a vote of which one is better.

I have both and since both are steep (or quasi steep) methods, they generally will produce similar profiles. However, changing technique and changing filter papers (or using the DISK) will definitely change the output. Generally, I'd say that the sweeter elements shine in the CCD. I don't have an AP technique mastered as well, so I can't speak to the differences with similar coffees yet.
