I just started using the BV1800TH after almost 30 years with Bunns, and I need some feedback. it is not making great coffee. My first test pots on the Bonavita were with a scrumptious chocolaty arabica from costa rica. the grind *smells* chocolaty & the Bunn made it *taste* chocolaty. with the Bonavita, a medium & fine grind both just tasted "dark" & nondescript. And although water temp was very hot, it reminded me of mr coffee; the kind of dull work coffee that needs cream & sugar. how can this be? This machine is billed as second only to the technivorm. I have tried medium and fine grinds and between 2.5 and 5 ounces of grinds. I just get dull and duller.
For this type of flavor, I could have bought something for 29 bucks. The Bunn was so much better.
