Hi, I am new here as a result of my company putting in a new Keurig machine today, replacing our rather nice, fully functional multi-pot brewer. Oh well..
In any case, I am stuck with it and resourceful fellow that I am I ran out to buy a refillable cup - the Ekobrew. Yes, I am cheap. The model in question is a K150, which is a commercial machine. Apparently it and some other models do not take the refillables. The needle for puncturing the disposables gets in the way but I am determined to make this work.
I imagine I can poke a hole to accommodate the needle but that may lead to the water passing through too quickly and a weaker brew. Has anyone had this problem and what worked best?

I have been through this exercise. Return that and try another brand. Don't bother with the Keurig brand refillable cup, it requires disassembly of the Keurig machine to get it in, which is unacceptable. There are lots of choices. I even bought the SoloGrind which has an adapter for the Solofill. There is an "as seen on TV" version, as well, which is relatively very cheap. If you don't want the spares, you can sell extras to your officemates.
After many attempts, I settled on the EZ Fill but that requires a molded paper filter -- this is right for me. It isn't right for everybody. The EZ fill works with that puncture issue. I have found the right Hario Skerton grind size to get the strength I like in my cup but I can't get the volume in the cup I want so I reserve this method for "desperation coffee." (Like the afternoon after a bad night of sleep or if I feel a migraine coming on.) Otherwise, my preferred daily brew is with a Melitta cone.
