There is no best, not to mention that there are dozens of ways to make coffee so which way are you thinking about?

Depends on what you want coffee-wise. For good auto drip brewers you need to look at SCAA for what they recommend---I think there are only 2 they endorse (proper brew temp & contact time).

There are actually 4 SCAA approved home brewers:

•Technivorm Moccamaster
•Lance Larkin BE 112 Brew Express
•Bunn HG Home Brewer
•Bonavita 8 Cup Exceptional Brew Coffee Maker with glass or thermal carafe

The Lance Larkin I've never seen in the wild, but the others are fairly common and not overly difficult to obtain.

Now those are just the Auto-drip brewers with SCAA approval. There are several others that make a good cup of coffee, I like my Brazen, also any commercial Bunn would work as well (and some of the 1 pot makers are usually less expesive than a TV)

The question was not restricted to home brewers nor to drip brewers, the field is wide open!
