What are some ways to help coffee keeps its great flavor? Say if I purchased 25 lbs for a frequent gathering. Can I put it in one, two or five pound bags and then extract the air from them? If so how long will the beans stay fresh? Any other advice on this subject would be appreciated tremendously.

What I always do with my beans is keep them in an airtight container and stick them in the icebox.  I always try to make sure that the beans are exposed to air for the least ammount of time.

I quickly take what I need, then I reseal the container and put back in the freezer.

Purchase only enough to last you a couple of weeks. Keep them in a one-way valve zip-lock bag in a dark cupboard, when you take out some beans squeeze out the air in the bag to keep the beans at optimim freshness.
