I have a Vev Vigano stovetop espresso maker. I have no idea what model it is (it was given to me about 7 years ago) and I can't find any pics of it online anywhere to ID a model # in any way. It looks, frankly, like a sleek, vertical motorcycle cylinder. Nice contemporary design, with a plastic ribbed area near the top for holding after making the espresso. The bottom is stamped VEV INOX ACE INOX 18/10 which I guess has more to do w/the stainless steel.
Anyway, I love the thing but the first filter plate and gasket kind of went "bad" after about three years. The plate seemed to flake or have some kind of weird damage (unlike the rest of the maker it seemed to be made of aluminum) so I bought replacements at a supermarket. Each one seems to have lasted for only a very short time. The gaskets would seem to rot, for example, or I'd still seem to find the plate developing strange surface damage.
Am I doing something wrong? Buying the wrong kind of replacement plates and gaskets? Any "official Vev Vigano" supplies that I should get?
Any clues or advice would be greatly appreciated. Is Vev Vigano contactable? I couldn't find a website.

Here's the info that I got from the manual of an espresso maker that I just recently bought: ALUSTEEL INDUSTRIE s.r.l. Tel 031 6923411 (don't forget to add country code for Italy before the number) email: info@alusteel.it
Looking around the internet I found this address associated with them, albeit on a third-party website: Via Cardorna 51 23895 Nibionno LC
