I couldn't live without my stainless 22oz. Thermos E5. Every morning I preheat, and fill it up from my [pick one: CCD, vacpot, woodneck, press, aeropress, etc. ...]. I take it to work, and pour it out little by little into my Bodum double wall tumbler. This way I get to enjoy the temp and aromatics over and over as each bit cools through the temp range. Lovely!
I also love that the coffee will stay 160F+ until at least 1 pm.

After my TechV crafes went bad, meaning the seal popped and Boyds wont warranty them any more, I went to he a Nissan unit. Removable top, fit uner the basket and it will keep 16 oz warm till the next day, warm not hot, but it does keep the coffe hot very well. $45 well spent.
I know microwaving coffee is not well thought, but have there been any taste tests or is there any data to tell us that gentle microwaving degrades taste more than keeping it in a thermal carafe? I do the gentle microwaving method and find it works fairly well though I don't have a thermal carafe to compare methods. Cerainly if you make it really got in the microwave the taste is destroyed.
I figure with a carafe the coffee is warmer while it's sitting around not being consumed and will degrade faster than non-carafed coffee.
