Pour rates vary. Some like a steady linear infusion while others brew with a curve i.e. large dose after pre-infusion, then slowly and steadily "riding" the bloom. Are you using paper or Kone for your filter?

What makes you slow in coffee pouring is the carafe spout. Be sure in buying a coffee maker; try to examine well the spout. The wider spout design makes it easier for you to safely pour a cup of coffee.
Did you know...? Dark roast coffees actually have less caffeine than lighter roasts due to the fact that the process of roasting burns off caffeine. www.coffeeloversmag.com/theMagazine
