Posted Sat May 17, 2014, 11:41am Subject: Had to reset temp. limit switch on Expobar Office Lever. Should I be concerned?
I own a four year old Expobar Office Lever. This morning the machine wouldn't warm up but the pump would run (zero heating, none of the sounds you'd associate with the boiler warming up). After it remained absolutely stone cold for ten minutes, I took the shell off looking for a fuse/safety switch of some sort, assuming there had to be one (and if not, or it wasn't tripped, I was looking at a burned out heating element).
I found the high temperature reset switch on top of the boiler, reset it, and plugged in/turned on the machine. Everything worked as it should.
Now, here's my question. This is the first time this has ever happened. While it could have just been a fluke, what kind of things should I look out for in the future? If it happens again (and with any sort of frequency) what might that indicate about the machine beyond a malfunction with the heating element? Is there anything I can do as a handy owner worth investigating? Thanks!
