Posted Wed Nov 15, 2006, 8:20pm Subject: New Forum: Barista Jams - please read
I've had this forum requested a few times, and I frequently get requests asking if it's okay to promote a jam or seminar in the forums; plus I want CoffeeGeek to be more involved in promoting Barista Jams and such in the future - so here it is.
Pretty simple rules for this forum section.
- No competitions - these can continue to be posted in the World Regional section. - No crossposting - if you want to promote your jam in one of our World Regional forums, no worries, but please don't cross post here. I'd encourage you to post here though, a one-stop meeting shop for all jams around the world. - No 'for profit' training or seminars. I think it's great that places like the American Barista Academy and Intelligentsia and others do great training, but these are for profit companies, and there's nothing wrong there. But I want this forum to service not-for-profit, community and skills building events. The for profit folks are welcome to advertise their training schools and seminars on the website however :)
Pretty much anything else regarding jams go - organizing informal consumer "jams" or "meets", thinking about finding other people to organize a jam in a region, keeping our readers updated about Jams in the works, reporting from them, and posting reviews, photos, you name it. If it's a jam or a meet or anything else involving a group of people getting together and exploring espresso, post it here!
