I just purchased 10 lbs. The current price is 22.50/lb, but this month Maubesse is the "Bean of the Month" so it is 15% off. They usually ship same day as ordered.
The business is a little certified organic brewing shop that has branched into green coffee. Customer service in the store is something to be desired, but the on-line and phone support is head and shoulders above the face time. I do buy most of all my brewing supplies there. Their prices run on the higher side. But, they only deal in FAIR TRADE on the coffee side and CERTIFIED ORGANIC on the brewing side and they do higher volume sales so their items are very fresh.

Mike are you roasting the Timor in a popper ?
A drum will produce better results with Timor when roasting for espresso, or do a stalled roast with an air roaster to develop more body.
We cupped the East Timor in a comparison air roast against drum roast and the air roasted showed a slight astringency in cupping. That would be a Sivetz 1/4 bag and a 25 lb batch San Franciscan.

I use a bbq drum, very similiar to the San Francisan, well, maybe not. Any tips on times or roast levels for espresso use. Is it even a choice for espresso blends? If so in what proportion.
Still wanting to try this bean, glad the thread is still alive.
that's about what I paid for it a few weeks back (Green of course)...it was by far the best price I could find, and I was a bit leary so I tried 5lbs of if....and was hooked, went back and bought 20 lbs.

Waiting for it too arrive this week.
I have roasted it several different profiles....for drip...so far, all of them have been great.

In my P2 I can set my profile, and I always take Indo's long, usually 18-20 minute, and we know from comparisons roasting side by side at CCC that I can duplicate their 25lb drum. So, the roasting isn't a problem at all, but a good question to ask given the number of folks with the 4-6 minute roast time.
In my case I just found Timor boring in espresso. In fact, when I'm blending in an Indo, I blend in at 20%, and I've not found Timor, Java, Bali or PNG to bring very much to the table. Usually a Sulawesi or mild Sumatra gives me the character I want without being overpowering with earth.

Interesting. Can you tell us more about the blend formulations that you've liked?
I've always kind of figured that something like a PNG could effectively serve for both the central and indo components in a blend, especially given its heritage, but I've never played much. I'd be very interested in hearing how folks approach the less-Indo Indo's.
