Any opinions on these beans from Coffee Bean. I love the taste when they do a good job - which is about 30% of the time?

The only source close to me is Coffee Bean and SB's? Any opinions or recommendations?

in my opinion freshness supercedes everything else.   even the highest quality blend will be mediocre if it's old.

so first make sure it's fresh, to me that means you see them scoop it out of the roaster or it has a roasted on date (not a use by date).  if you cannot find this locally, there are a few places online that will get you a 11-12oz bag for around $9-$10 per bag and will only be 1-3 days off roast.  perfect freshness.

i've never used coffee bean company beans, but i always found their coffee as average, about the same as starbucks.  I've never seen one that roasted on site, are their bags stamped with a roast date?

I already threw out the bags so I couldn't say. Coffee Bean vanilla lattes is what hooked me on buying my on super auto machine in the first place so I naturally started buying their beans. I'm positive they don't roast on site as you said.

There is an independent shop down the street that roast their own beans. You can smell it in the air within a block. I'll have to give them a try. The espresso beans from Coffee Bean are oily and I've read that they can jam the grinder in my Jura S9A. It's probably a good idea to try something fresh as you suggested.

Thanks for the input.
