Got some today, followed the recommendations, 21g 201 F, 1.5 oz in 25 seconds
Wow...godshot first attempt.  Best espresso I have had....cocoa, some sweetness, a bit of fruit at the end, not much acidity, well balanced.
Anyone likes this blend also? How consistent are they year round?

Got some yesterday, too. Two day old roast... perhaps too young.  First thing, it takes a courser grind than Red Bird.  Took a while to dial it in.

So far, pretty nice!  The elusive godshot evades me still.  For now...

I'll use this over the next dew days to see how it matures.  Still got to go through my Red Bird, though.

Metropolis Redline remains a favored espresso of mine, and I look forward to visiting there in September when I'll be in Chicago, but Red Bird remains my #1 "go to" roaster.

I just started with my second 2lb bag of Redline.  I'm *really* enjoying this coffee.  As I ran out of Cuvee Dead Fingers, which had about the same grind as Red Bird (quite fine), once again the Redline prefers a more course grind.  And yes, it likes a heavy dosage... I'm somewhere over 20g with a good, firm tamp.

Simply delicious.

And the folks at Metropolis couldn't be nicer.  I ordered 2lb bag and it got hung up in FedEx somewhere... called Metropolis and they shipped me another 2lb bag, 2-day service, for free.  Many thanks to the customer service over there!

I am a big fan of Redline. That said however, the last couple of month it doesn't seem like it has been as consistent as it was in the past. I have received some bags that were just awesome, and some I thought pretty bad. I also buy decaf for my wife and the last bag of the orange line decaf was very dark and oily whereas normally it is a medium roast and not oily. I am not sure why there is so much variation lately, but I hope they get it sorted out. Anyone else notice the same thing?

I have come back to red line (and orange line) again after a taking a 5 month break from it and I am really enjoying it again. I hope the consistency holds.

I just ordered some Redline beans but I think the max I can dose with my CC1 is around 18g.  What to do?

The brew parameters can be found here:

For a double basket they contemplate dosing between 16-19g. I have been dosing @ 18g. I do not think you should have any problem.

I've been enjoying Redline for well over a year now.  It's a great, very forgiving, relatively cheap blend that suits my tastes.  I also order their Greenline (unroasted Redline blend) in 5 lb bags and roast that in my Behmor.  15 - 20 seconds into second crack matches their roast level, but the Behmor can't quite match the details of a great roaster.  Still, it makes it downright cheap.

I pull 18.5 grams in my Cremina and 19.8 in my Cimbali FWIW.
