Just 1 teensy little question...

Do you mean by the above that you just turned your machine on and then waited the aforementioned 2 or 7 minutes before pulling your shot?

With my Livia, and others may or may not chime in here with similar experiences, I find my machine takes at least an hour to stabilize, meaning the brewhead/grouphead/PF/piping/boiler have gone from bone cold to more or less hot and stayed there for some time.  Shots pulled right after the initial heat phase is over are really, really bad tasting.  

Kind of like the difference in listening to a really low sample rate MP3 through a convertible stereo going down the highway @ 70 vs the dedicated listening room thing.  It may be the same song but it sure sounds different!

And as JBLewis said, it's about PRACTICE.    

Good results come from experience. Experience comes from mistakes.

No. He meant after the boiler light turned off. He's not here anymore though.  Tired of being 'picked on' by some here.
