This stuff is awesome. Previously, the best decaf I found was from Paradise Roasters. But didn't have quite enough chocolate/tobacco flavors for me. The Zoka certainly delivers on that. And even though it's a decaf, I would say it's one of the best overall that I've ever had.

I've been unimpressed in dealing with it at work, but in part because nobody except myself bothers to or even knows how to dial it in properly (and admittedly, I haven't completely even figured it out). How have you been pulling it, generally? I've found that there's a pretty narrow range in which I don't get an excessively grassy or dull/bitter taste from it.

I'm doing about 18 grams (I will double check this since my grinder has a timer), ground to get 50ml in exactly 25 seconds. No idea on the temp, I just turn on the water until it stops making a sizzling sound (no PID), and then I put in the portafilter and pull the shot. Honestly, it's been probably the most forgiving of any I've tried.
When you say you've had problems, are you talking about the decaf, or the regular?

The decaf. Caffeinated espresso is Zoka's Paladino, which can be a pain to get right, but basically makes sense once you do. I've generally been pulling the decaf Quatro with a higher dose than you, maybe I'll try cutting it down to 18 or so, though. Our machine is PID'd, but unfortunately set at too high a temperature, and nobody knows the machine password to change it.

I just weighed a dose and it was 17.85g. But, it looks like less than I was getting a couple of weeks ago, I might increase the timer and see what happens at 18.5g or so. I suspect I was around there anyway.
