I was in Hood River yesterday and I stopped a 10 Speed coffee to taste and pick up some beans. (I like to do that when I hit a new place.) I was impressed with the barista and equipment: Mazzer Robur and La Marzocco. Nice slow drippy pull and was very nice. I will report back if I can do as well with their blend of kickstand at home.

Well, first pull, 5 days past roast date, right in the target zone on the shot. It is very smooth to me compared to the Stumptown hairbender I just finished. I did not get the slow honey drips they got at the shop (I probably can't on my set up) but over all I am pleased so far. I wonder if I could talk them into selling 5 lbs at a discount? I wish I had the palate to describe it better. They have shops in N CA and Washington State.
Right now, I am at 21.5 grams and 2 m on the Vario W grinder. (the high dose was left over from the stumptown but I decided to start there)

10 speed is my cafe of choice in Hood River when I'm not making coffee at home. Dog River pulls Stumptown but with so many places in Portland serving Stumptown I prefer the variety. There are 4-10 speed locations in the gorge, 2 in Hood River, one in Mosier and one in White Salmon
