Roasted on 4/10. Received on 4/12. Tried on 4/13 as a straight shot (what else). Liked it a lot and even more the next day.

Made BW a quadruple shot large latte (I would guess about 12 oz total). She says it compares favorably with the Hairbender large Cappa at Turnstile coffee in Belmar N. J. where she gets her fix outside the home.

I've had recent batches of Analog, and I was very happy with it.

I've currently settled on Klatch's Belle, for a couple of reasons.  Money-wise, Intelligentsia's shipping is $10 at minimum.  I'm pretty local to their LA location...not sure where Analog is roasted/packaged, though.  With Klatch, I have the option for USPS Priority, which charges only $5 and STILL gets to me 1 day after roasting.  Also, 2 lbs of Belle is $6 cheaper than Analog.  So, saving over $10 every 2 weeks.  Not much, but I've been trying to be better about spending lately.

Second is taste.  I find the two in question to be favorably interchangeable...both are rich and full-bodied, and have somewhat similar roast levels (both are pretty much medium-dark).  That area is my flavor preference, as I like chocolate notes over bright, citrus-y ones.

I make straight shots and cappuccinos for myself, and capps and tall darks for my wife.  She's been happy with both beans.

Agree on shipping cost. The beans were bought with a Christmas gift card from my daughter. If out of my own pocket I would have 2nd, third and 4th, thoughts on ordering. After all, there is a reason why I home roast when the weather has not been brutal.

I live near, and frequent, Intelly's Venice Beach location and on occasion drive to their Silver Lake location and I've never seen Analog espresso in either store. Bummed since I want to try it. I do prefer their Direct Trade Black Cat to their Certified Organic Black Cat, a little sweeter/chocolatey-er finish. I assume Analog is roasted in ChiTown which is why neither LA store gets it (and the two times I've been to their Pasadena location it wasn't there either).

From Chi, love intelligentsia (however feel as though their Blackcat isn't what it once was. The Apollo from Counter Culture reminds me of what BlackCat used to be like.
