Can someone recommend a good drip blend from my stash list below? My wife wants something to put in a few gift boxes for work. Of course she needs it to day!

Thanks

Hi Randy,

Today we are drinking a 50-50 blend of Costa Rican with Ethiopian and they seem to compliment each other very nicely.  If you ask me, the Yemen is awesome alone but maybe a little rare to give as gifts to the unitiated.

Probably ANY fresh-roasted coffee will be a treat for your friends.  :-))

Merry Merry!!!

Thanks Jon

Did you pre or post blend the beans? What level did you roast to?

As those look like sweet marias greens, I wouldn't necessarily blend.

I've REALLY enjoyed the Ethiopian and the Yemen as single origin in the press and drip at City+, I dont think you really need to mess with either.

Sure thing Randy,
I post blended, because these are good as SO as well.  I'd say I pulled the beans just as second crack got rolling, the Costa Rican went a few extra seconds.  Both batches are FC+ and just spotting with oil on the second rest day.

Brazil FC+/Vienna 20%, Sulawesi Vienna, Harrar FC 25-30%
Brazil Vienna 20%, Harrar FC++ 80%
Brazil Uganda Coasta Rican 25% or less

I'm not famililar with Yemen or Nuggests but I know others can suggest of bunch with those.

Woops I posted espresso blends since we're in the espresso forum.

For drip Sulawesi and Harrar. Brazil 30%, Columbian 60% really nice crowd pleaser.  Sumatra and Costa Rican if you like French Roast. ? Panama nice by itself.

Harrar at FC and darker?
How do you roast your beans?
I just have an air popper, and I've lost 90% of the fruit character of Harrar when I go darker than City.

Do I have bad skillz, or bad luck?

I normally roast for espresso in my i-Roast so I tend to roast to Full City +. The few times I’ve sampled my roasts in a vac pot or press I haven’t been that impressed so far. I need to try some roasts at the City + level.

I've tasted blueberries at FC roasted in the popper. Haven't tried darker yet but am going to try FC+/+ and see what happens.
