I normally drink straight shots, but have been drinking Americanos lately with my morning paper read.  Well, yesterday, my postlady delivered my latest entry of my Coffee Emergency subscription, Guatemalan Palo Alto Azul.  Really good as a straight espresso, but when made into an Americano, it was fantastic.  Hands down, the best cup of coffee I've ever had.

Thought I'd share.

CE subscribers, enjoy,

Jack

I love that stuff, so whenever I can, I buy as much of it as I can unroasted.  I'm running obnoxiously low on it, so I'm going to order more of everything.  I absolutely love all his American coffees, Brazilian Mogiana, Colombian Huila Valencia, Guatemalan Palo Alto Azul...

Actually, I love all his coffees, including his Kenyan, espresso blends, Sidamo, his Yemen Ismaili was damn near perfect.  God, maybe I should just go ahead and buy out is whole stock :-)...

I'm also not endorsed by him, I just live very close and love his stuff.

Thanks rawman, for helping me discover this hidden gem

Anyone had his PNG?  Is it any good?  Or should I buy some Yemen San'ani?

Hi Eric,

You can't miss with any decent Yemen.  :-))

Did you ever try the Mexican Turquesa from www.CCMcoffee.com ?

Still no coffee orders.  I'm running really low on my core stock, so new beans aren't my priority.  I'll get around to it yet!  Just need to buy Colombian, Guatemalan, Brazilian, and Monsooned Malabar.

About the Yemen coffee, true dat!  Unless you don't like Yemen-type coffees....

Dood - ever try the Guat Filadelfia Estate from R. Dalton ?
It's probably one of the best I've tried (it's a COE winner IIRC).

Funny you should ask--I just tried his PNG as a single origin shot of espresso this morning and it was absolutely awesome!

Jon, I really should start buying the coffees you recommend.  Especially considering I've said I'd buy them and tell you how I like them :-/

How about this, Jon - When I get a raise, I'll buy myself 5 pounds of Mexican, 5 pounds of Yemen, and 3 pounds of Guatemalan?  Minimum wage isn't a good wage for a 16-year-old coffee freak.

Jack - thanks for your post, I ordered some from Jason last week and we had our first-ever Americanos last night.  I have to agree - it is the best cup I've ever had, too!  I also got some Guatemalan Monte Maria to try, perhaps this evening.
