UPDATE: i'd also like to hear if anyone would be interested in reading such a thing. maybe this is a more novel concept than i thought, but i had assumed the idea would find fertile ground here ... maybe not. ------------------
i asked this question on my earlier, quickly submerged blog/virtual hangout thread, but it would seem a new topic, particularly since i have yet to get an answer in the old thread.
has anyone ever live-blogged an espresso event? a jam, competition or weekend cupping? an informal smackdown?
it seems SOMEone would have thought about this before, and it also seems that there would be an ample audience for the bigger events. with the help of a wirless laptop and an easy-upload digi-cam, i would think the live blogger in question would snag quite an audience by providing for the transportationally challenged a portal to the event itself.
i, for one, gobble up the pics and updates posted here on CG. but has anyone actually live-blogged? i did an informal, six-person smackdown (more for educational purposes) this past weekend and blogged it live myself. after telling only a few folks in my general area, i got some pretty serious traffic (for me). it was great fun. guest posts on the fly, descriptions of the shots, soon-to-follow photos, etc.
i have to think this would be a cool way to bring a barista competition to the world. it's like close-captioned tv, or c-span, for the everyman coffee geek! but maybe that's just me...

I am in the process of putting together a site that will suit this to a "T". Stay tuned as it is not far from completion and will be free for anyone's use. E-mail me off-list and I will let you know specifics.
The inspiration to do this came after a really teriffic jam session with some other CG'ers at Terrior. It is in no way meant to compete with this site.

Never done it but would most assuredly join in!! . . . prolly with an empty shot glass in one hand and espresso beans in the other since my brewing skills are pre-pubescent . . .
