Roaster: Genovese Coffee Posted Sat Nov 15, 2003, 5:14am Subject: Putt Putt Art   I've noticed lots of comments in the "Art" threads about the need for great equipment to produce the milk for rosettas and the like.  I have the benefit of being paid to practice on a commercial machine, 5 days a week.  However, on the weekends I use my humble Krups.  It has a thermoblock and pump for steam and espresso.  With the experience from the commercial machine, I have learned to tweak all I can out of the Krups and you can too on your "Domestic" machine.  Read the "Milk Frothing Guide" (It's the best tuition you'll get without handing over some folding stuff!)and practice, practice, practice. Here's something that's easy to do once you have some half decent froth.  The results will impress just about anyone. Note:  This was done on my Krups at home this morning.  The espresso is light in colour due to a restricted espresso pour for my wife's "Weak" coffee. 1- Maintain a slow, steady pour and avoid producing a large white spot in the centre.  (It is possible to avoid producing a spot at all.)  A small spot will be covered over as follows (Click for larger image)   Simon James.
