I have troubles finding a place to buy some Guittard chocolate sauce. Its website doesn't offer it. Can anyone tell me where I can get it? I prefer going to the local stores in Chicago, but okay with purchase online.

Guittard....
Hmmm, they make such good chocolate too. It's a shame they're so hard to deal with.
Let me explain.
I've been to both SCAA Boston and NASCORE this past year and both times I tried talking to the Guittard people about getting some samples for testing and to find out just where I can get product from. Both times I might as well have been met with derision and ridicule. Getting information and some help from Guittard reps is next to impossible and frought with irritation and frustration. At NASCORE, I even found some youngish chap with the last name Guittard at their booth and even he was evasive about helping a potential customer. I'm truly amazed.
While at NASCORE, I also stopped by the Stirling booth and chatted with the very friendly girl there who was more than helpful, offered to send me samples in the mail and was just fun to talk with. A week later, there were the samples she promised. A few weeks after that, I receive a follow-up call from a local distributor whom Stirling had forwarded my name to and asked them to see what I thought of the samples. In our discussions, it turns out they also carry Guittard's syrup line and I asked him if I might be able to receive some samples for testing purposes. No problem and he sent the samples (along with samples of their other products) to me the next day.
But I'll let you read about those samples in the other thread that I wrote, I just can't remember now where on CG it is!
Anyway, if you are stuck and cannot find Guittard locally, check out Mayorga Coffee Roasters in Maryland. So far, the people I have spoken to were very nice, friendly and helpful and I presume they will be able to settle your Guittard dilemma.

If you are looking for a place to buy some Guittard chocolate sacue, I found a place where you can buy it. Espresso Supply, Inc. sells it (Dark Chocolate Syrup) for $19.95.
P.S. it took me a looong time to find a place that sells it..trust me...

Got a bucket of this excellent chocolate syrup. This thick dark syrup is so freaking sweet when I first tasted it all by itself (I was not pleased, because I am not big on sweet stuff). But when I added just an ounce of it to my latte, the result was a great Mocha with a BIG dark chocolate flavor and just a hint of sweetness.
Also, the latte art looks great with this dark syrup as the background.

How does Guittard's sauce stack up against Ghirridelli?(Excuse my spelling) We were using Hershey's and it is too bitter, the Ghirridelli's is better but not quite sweet enough I am afraid. What is the opinion? Tartbird

Personally, I find Guittard's syrup to go with coffee much better than Ghirridelli. Vivace uses it for their coffee and its delightful. I'm curious to try a mocha with either Euphoria or Valrona.

Charlie Bean Coffee has a warehouse about 2 hours from the Guittard warehouse. We buy Guittard sauces by the pallet for distribution to Coffee Shops and businesses in Oklahoma. We also sell it wholesale and to the consumer online via our website.
