I pretty much love espresso and all coffee drinks (except lattes). If you had to pick one item to have with your drink, what would it be?
For me, it's chocolate. They just compliment each other so well. Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, chocolate with nuts. Gotta have em. I prefer the Euro brands, but in a pinch - Hershey's will do.

I agree with you about the chocolate, it is probably the best compliment to coffee. I also like some kind of desert with cream on it with coffee, It's rich and decadent. I also love ice-cream with coffee, like an affogato. Fantastic, however it's very rich and you can't have too many, otherwise people will start to call you that other italian based word Affofatto.

Chocolate RULES with coffee!
One of my favs is the Milky Way. I make it with a double shot, about 8-12 oz of steamed chocolate milk, a tablespoon or so of Torani Caramel syrup, and fresh whipped cream. I top it off with a sprinkle of Ghiaridelli powder. It can stand alone, especially as a dessert item.
I actually like cappuccino better than lattes, but I try to do "latte art" with them. If I make one of them, I need something sweet to accompany, whether it be chocolate anything, or sweet cereal in the morning. I find that anything sweet really brings out the flavor of the coffee. The best thing I've had with a cappa is sweet pumpkin bread. Must be the nutmeg or something, but it makes the espresso taste amazing!
My band played a gig in Indiana once at a place called Jitterz. their coffee speciality was the "Wake-Up Shake." 3 double shots, 2 big scoops of vanilla ice cream, chocolate milk, any flavoring you wanted (or none) and ice blended to a smooth concoction like a milk shake. Topped with whipped cream. It's a big-'un, at a full 20 oz. A must have, but only once in a blue moon.

It can't be a must have or I'd be a blimp - but my fave thing to have with a good cappuccino is some nice, sweet, cinnamon-y coffee cake. For me, sugar-flour-butter is a darned nice companion!

I'd have to agree with Corey. Vanilla ice cream and a double shot of espresso mixed well in a big cup - an espresso milkshake, if you will. But, I guess that would qualify as the drink itself.
So, I'd have to go with good old fashioned cake doughnuts - glazed.
