It was pure heaven.

The ice cream was Breyers vanilla bean and the espresso was Espresso Classico by Paradise Roasters.

mmmmm

sounds awesome....think i'll try some of that later!!

last week I got in the mood to make an espresso-based drink. here's what I created:

fill tall glass with ice
pour two teaspoons of sugar over the ice
fill cup 1/8 with 151 proof rum and 1/8 chocolate mint liqueur
pull a triple normale espresso, add to cup
steam milk, add enough to fill cup to top
sprinkle cocoa over the top

was yummy.......

I tried this with my roommates a few weeks ago on one of San Francisco's only hot summer days.

"Why is it so hot?  Isn't this San Francisco?"
"I dunno, just grab something from the freezer so we can pull a shot over it."

It was between the leftover cookies and cream ice cream and the frozen fish filets, so out came the dessert.

And yes, it was very good.  I want to make this again with my favorite vanilla bean ice cream, because though the cookies and cream was yummy, I'm sure the simple vanilla canvas will be the way to go.

Affogato?  Yeah, a friend was addicted.  Used to bring a fresh gallon of Vanilla Bean just so I'd pull him a coupla shots over some.  I was up to most of a gallon of ice cream a week...
It means 'droned' in Italian, and refers to almost any dessert with a coupla shots poured over it, but it mostly refers to vanilla ice cream or gelato.

Try mixing just enough milk to dissolve a tablespoon or two of good cocoa powder in a steaming vessel. pull a doubleshot and pour it into the pitcher and then steam this mix. Pour over vanilla ice cream. Should be enough for two or maybe three servings.

The other night we had a cappuccino on the side of a bowl of vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup on the ice cream. They complimented each other deliciously!

My wife wanted a hot chocolate last week, I didn't have any drinking chocolate so I found a Lindt chocolate in the pantry.
I broke off a few squares and placed in bottom of steaming jug then added full cream milk and began the steam and stretch the milk with the chocolate melting and blending with the milk.
I then poured the textured drink into a latte glass and served.....my wife was swooning and I have now raised the bar for hot chocolate in our house (and the calorie count!!).

Try Epic in West Perth, they do a killer affogato along with all of their other brilliant coffees.
