Hi all and thanks for looking!
As I was answering a post a few minutes ago, I glanced over at my bio information and I see it has been 5 years and a few days since I joined! That was 4900+ posts ago so I guess that is nearly 1K a year on average. As I don't have internet on weekends that means that nearly all my posts were on week days. Then I don't get on every day so the days I DO get on, I must be typing my brains out to keep the average up!
Thank all of you for putting up with me, I hope I have helped more than I have ticked people off.
I look back at the machines and grinders I have had, I think about how when I first started, I was very excited about my pump driven Krups that I bought at a yard sale for $20 and that I was so happy with ground in the coffee store, FRESH bought (who knows how long it was on the shelf :O) coffee.
I spent $40 on a DB8 PO**** grinder at Bed Bath and Beyond and could not possibly imagine how people here could advice spending more than that let alone HUNDREDS more on a grinder, heck it only GRINDS the coffee, how important could it really be?
I can fondly remember MOST of my steps up the food chain, I now don't batt an eye at a few hundred $ for a grinder though I do see the need for lower priced quality gear for those behind me moving up the chain and I help when I can.
Some agree with my views, some do not and, more than likely, most don't care either way LOL!
It has been an interesting and fun ride, I hope it will continue well into the future. Thanks for taking the time to read this or, as far as that goes, anything I write. I am humbled by the quality people here who put up with me and the many members here who I respect a great deal!

I've enjoyed reading your posts from day one, & you're a very knowledgable respected Coffeegeek member IMVHO & just keep being you & don't ever change lol! {;-)
I'll raise a cup to you (going into the kitchen to brew it right after I send this post! ;)), & here's to the next 5 years.

Thanks Craig you and the other Mods, are some of the ones I have the highest regard for, you do a job to keep the peace for only the warm feeling it gives you, kind of like having an accident in black pants, it gives you a warm feeling but no one knows! LOL.

We all start at the beginning and work up from there, I sounded like a real rookie huh? LOL!
A lot has changed since then, mostly it was two things. Reading a LOT here, and getting my hands inside the equipment to see how it ticks. Once you understand how it all works, troubleshooting is not hard. Electronic problems can be an issue that needs to be done hands on but even then you can get an idea of what the issue is.
Helen, you are there now, no need to wait for 4 more years, Ron, that goes for you too, the only thing I have more of is reading and a whole lot more typing!
Lets not forget the mods again, I have talked one on one with several of them, they have a hard job to walk a fine line between what is acceptable and what isn't. I crossed the line once and received a well earned strike but I learned from it and have not even gotten close to the edge again .... as far as I know ;O
