Interesting story.  I find myself reading some of your posts on topics that I am not specifically interested in, just to gain general knowledge.  They are informative and well written, even your first.

That is what I was trying to say - only you said it much better than I did.  Thank you.

Thanks Craig you and the other Mods, are some of the ones I have the highest regard for, you do a job to keep the peace for only the warm feeling it gives you, kind of like having an accident in black pants, it gives you a warm feeling but no one knows! LOL.

Ron, I have enjoyed your posts very much too.

I hope the shots were GOOD ones (or will be when they happen LOL)

OK, the post that started it all off, so many posts ago, hey, I sound just like nearly every other new person here!

Yes you do (sound like us)  LOL
I need to go check out my first posting. My fingers were prolly shaking on the keys. That's over 10+ years ago.
Brother Craig was one of my mentors, as he was one of the very first to indenture/tether/enslave himself to CG.

IDEA!!..
Maybe a thread with members re-posting their VERY first posting. Should be good for some laughs.
I wager many will start with the word...HELP!!!

PTI, I'm going to use Wayne's thread to thank our members for contributing so much to help others.
We here are only as good as we are good to each other.
As Wayne said, we won't always agree with each other, but WHAT FAMILY DOES?

EDIT...and sheesh my avatar is the original avatar I believe. Folks, I'm 12+ years OLDER than that shot, which was taken around 2000. Thats AD, for all you smart as*es! LOL

Wayne, its hardly seemed that long hasn't it? We joined within a short time of each other but your contribution {and post count) trump mine by leaps and bounds. What's worse? Wish I could take half of my posts back lol.  But you sir have become one of the solid staples we expect to see when we log on.  You've always been here helping out the new members and experienced alike. Have always been a wealth of information and always with a kind word to boot. Lots of people join this site, but its the select few like yourself that keep people coming back.  Here's to another five my friend.

Thank all of you for YOUR kind words, heck I am just happy to have a family like those here. I did not intend to make this a give me praise thread, not at all, I just saw that it was five years, a long time, and how ....... ur, ...... um,  ............... quickly the time has passed, and when looking at how much I typed, there is no wonder that the keys E, A, S have had the letters worn off and there is a polished mark on the space bar where my right thumb hits it, a very nice high gloss polished spot, the home key indicators have become rounded too!

I think it would really be fun to go back to our first posts, sort of revisit where we came from and how far we have come!

PSST, Helen, you really do have it, don't sell yourself short.

I am just a good trouble shooter and a hell of a cook.  Both of which, I believe, help me figure out what is going on with the espresso and answer some of the most simple questions.  You sir, are a gem.

I love brewing with my press pot but had read recently that excess oils and such could pose a certain health risk if consumed on a regular basis...has anyone heard or read of this?
Thanks...ibawriter
