Hi Everyone. New to this forum. Started out a month ago just looking for a better cup of coffee. You know how when you get a good cup and you can taste the subtle flavours almost like wine. Thought it was just luck of the draw, found this forum and realize it was a technique. I bought a grinder( bodum burr), a bag of Beans and a French press( already had a pour through in my camping gear) and was thrilled with the results. Fast forward and I should be receiving my Silvia and Bartza Preciso in a few days. I always thought bad coffee was caused by too much in the machine but now I know differently. Now I have to get good at milk drinks in case my SO finds out what I paid for the new gear. So not sure whether to thank you all or curse you but I'm sure I'll have lots of questions soon.

Sounds like you made a great buy. Best of luck on your future coffee endeavors. Let us know how it goes for you. I had the same problem with my SO....luckily she is into purses so my espresso habits aren't really that out of line with her little addictions.

Other than the part about having a fear of significant other's reaction, the story is like mine, and like so many others. I look back on my start with a Silvia and a Rocky, before there was any more than even talk of PIDing machines. Now look at me! I'll tell you, you never know where a seemingly, most simple choice will lead. But all journey's begin with a first step.
