I recently grabbed a new Rancilio Silvia V3 at an open-box store for $24.99. Also got a Breville Smart Grinder for $65 and sold it on eBay to make some money for my new Baratza Vario! :)

I haven't hooked it up because I neither have the space, circuit, or expertise to plumb it in. I'm trading it for cash or more toys to a local espresso repair place :) We turned it on in his shop and it heats up and steams just fine. He didn't have a pump or motor for it on hand, though.

Well I found something that I got pretty excited about-
A Gaggia Coffee marked at $14.00 at my local SPCA thrift shop.
When I got it up to the counter he advised me it was actually 25% off too. Had all the parts and was in used but good condition. The only problem with it was that the plastic part of the cheesey Gaggia wand was missing.
What I really liked about it was how similar it is to my new Gaggia Classic. Turns out I stole the wand from the Coffee and salvaged the nut off of it...Then I put the nut on a Rancilio wand and put it back on my classic, and put my classic wand on the Coffee! Now I can still convert my Classic back to the stock configuration if I have warranty issues.
"Why?" did I buy such a similar Gaggia machine you may ask.... The Coffee has just become my new travel machine. We are leaving for 10 days this weekend and I was wondering how I'd survive without my machine...now I can leave my shiny Classic at home and not have to worry about damaging it, while I bring my fully functional beater Gaggia with me to provide me hotel coffee love.
EDIT: I had to add a picture. This is my new machine all packaged up and ready to go to for a week at Disneyland. The pelican case on the left contains my Mazzer and all the coffee goodies to go with both the Gaggia and the Mazzer. The Gaggia worked like a champ. Only problem was the coffee was so good everyone came to my room and I ran out of my bean supply in 3 days.
